On Sunday April 24th, St. Sharbel welcomed representatives of Bobbitt Design Build to deliver its 1st formal update to the community on the status of our Church Building project. The representatives shared Bobbitt’s background in not only the design build of over 3,500 commercial and industrial projects in the Carolinas, but specifically constructing over 80 religious institutions since 1996 in the Triangle and surrounding areas. Bobbitt has partnered with St. Sharbel since 2004 and most recently, has been instrumental in supporting our Church gain the necessary site approvals from the Town of Morrisville so that construction could finally begin!
Planning is well on its way as several milestones were articulated to the community for the Phase 1 Construction of a multi-purpose 4,000 sqft. Church Building & Fellowship Hall that will allow us hold Liturgical and social events. The portion of the Building that we will celebrate the Liturgy will have approximately 100 seats that can easily expand as much as 200 seats for larger crowds. On the Fellowship side of the Building, 10-12 tables will exist as this could also expand to approximately 20 tables as needed for special events. The hall will be separated by accordion style walls that will allow us for great flexibility as we expand or contract any portion of the hall.
Phase 1 currently has 15-17 paved parking spaces extended by a gravel surface area for ample parking. Future phases will allow for additional paved parking spaces in the front and around the back side of the buildings. A roundabout circle will allow for convenient drop offs and pick-ups in front of the Church Building / Fellowship Hall as parishioners enter or leave the facility.
