Dear Parishioners and Friends,

After the successful 2015-2016 year of Christian Formation, we are happy to announce that this year we will continue with our Sunday School program on the first and third Sunday of the month, following the Divine Liturgy from 2.00 pm – 2.45 pm, starting September 18, 2016. 

The primary focus of the Sunday School program at St Sharbel is to help lead our children to a strong relationship with God. Through introducing them to our rich Maronite Tradition and Spirituality, the classes encourage them to be a part of our Maronite community and to better enable them to have extended interactions with others, within our own parish.  More importantly, experience has shown that Sunday School tends to help the whole family on their own journey of faith.

We take this opportunity to thank all the catechists for their generous dedication to the faith formation of our children. However, many of you also have talents to share.  If you feel that you can assist in this ministry to our children, as a teacher, and to be part of our Sunday School teachers’ team, please don’t hesitate to contact Mrs. Marsha Shiver.

Be aware that a Registration Form is Required for each child, and should be submitted or turned in to Mrs. Marsha Shiver, no later than Sunday September 11, 2016.

Below are the dates for our 2016/2017 Sunday School:
– September 2016 :    18^th (Catechetical Sunday)
– October 2016 :    2^nd, 16^th & 30^th
– November 2016:    6^th & 20^th
– December 2016 :    4^th, 18^th (Christmas Pageant)
– January 2017 :    15^th & 29^th
– February 2017:     5^th & 19^th
– March 2017:     5^th & 19^th
– April 2017:     2^nd & 30^th
– May 2017:     7^th & 21^st (First Holy Communion)

Please note that it is important that the students arrive at class on time and that they attend the Divine Liturgy before that. The students may occasionally have homework; please take the time to work with them.  We hope that this year will be as successful as last year. And remember that faith formation is a life-long journey that begins in the home.
